Our Story
A legacy of care, still moving forward.
Skin House began with the late Professor Dr. Tahra Leheta — may she rest in peace — a physician, professor and educator whose work brought together rigorous medical knowledge, aesthetic judgment and deeply personal care.
Her name belongs at the beginning of our story. Her standard continues in everything that comes next.
She built more than a clinic. She set a standard.
Professor Dr. Tahra Leheta was Professor of Dermatology and Cosmetology at the Faculty of Medicine, Kasr Al Ainy, Cairo University, and the founder of Skin House.
Her career moved naturally between the university, medical research, professional education and clinical practice. Yet titles alone cannot explain what made her exceptional.
To her patients, she was a physician who paid attention. To the doctors she taught, she was generous with knowledge. To those who worked beside her, she brought precision, warmth and an unmistakably human presence to medicine.
Skin House was created from that same combination.
The patient always came before the procedure.
Professor Dr. Tahra believed that responsible dermatology begins with understanding.
A concern had to be properly assessed before it could be treated. Aesthetic medicine required judgment, not exaggeration. Technology could support a doctor’s work, but it could never replace knowledge, experience or an honest conversation with the patient.
Her approach moved comfortably between medical dermatology and aesthetic care because she did not see them as competing disciplines. Both began with the same responsibility: to understand the person, protect their health and recommend only what was appropriate for them.
That principle became the foundation of Skin House.
Precision in diagnosis. Restraint in treatment. Care in every detail.
A physician, researcher and teacher.
Alongside her clinical work, Professor Dr. Tahra contributed to dermatological research and medical education through Cairo University.
Her published clinical research explored subjects including acne scarring, collagen induction, laser technology and facial rejuvenation. She also participated in scientific conferences and practical aesthetic-medicine education, sharing her experience with physicians inside and outside Egypt.
For her, knowledge was never something to keep at a distance. It had to be examined, challenged, taught and translated into better care.
Her influence therefore extended far beyond the patients she personally treated. It continued through the doctors she taught, the colleagues she worked alongside and the medical conversations she helped advance.
Medical knowledge should not remain inside the consultation room.
Through television appearances and her educational series, My Touch by Dr. Tahra, Professor Dr. Tahra brought dermatology into people’s everyday lives.
She discussed real concerns affecting the skin, hair and body in language that people could understand. Her purpose was not simply to promote treatments. It was to help people make more informed decisions about their health and recognise when professional medical advice was needed.
The same intelligence and warmth her patients experienced inside the clinic became accessible to a much wider audience.
She made expertise feel clear, relevant and personal.
Excellence was only part of what people remembered.
Those who knew Professor Dr. Tahra remember more than an accomplished physician.
They remember her generosity, her attentiveness and the help she quietly extended to patients and people in need. They remember a doctor whose care did not end when the consultation did.
She understood that medicine was never only about identifying a condition or performing a treatment. It was also about how a person was received, how carefully they were heard and how they felt when they left the room.
Her humanity was not separate from her medical work. It was central to it.
Skin House was her philosophy, made tangible.
Professor Dr. Tahra founded Skin House as a place where medical dermatology, advanced technology and thoughtful aesthetic care could exist under one considered approach.
It was designed to feel personal without compromising professionalism, modern without becoming driven by trends, and aesthetically sophisticated without losing its medical purpose.
Every patient was different. Every recommendation required judgment. Every treatment had to begin with a clear reason.
That was the culture she established, and it remains the standard by which Skin House measures itself today.
A legacy is not preserved by standing still.
Professor Dr. Tahra’s work continues through a clinic that remains committed to learning, evolving and caring for patients with the same sense of responsibility on which it was founded.
Today, Dr. Farah Elgarem leads Skin House into its modern chapter, alongside Professor Dr. Yehia El Garem, Professor of Dermatology and one of the clinic’s founding physicians.
New technologies are introduced thoughtfully. Treatments continue to evolve. Knowledge moves forward.
The foundation, however, remains unchanged: listen carefully, assess responsibly and treat every patient as a person before treating their concern.
This is how Skin House honours its founder. Not by attempting to recreate the past, but by carrying its most important values into the future.
Her work continues in the standard she left behind.
In every careful diagnosis.
In every honest recommendation.
In every doctor who continues to learn.
In every patient who feels genuinely cared for.
Skin health, carried forward.
